House Bill 2040 Surplus Real Estate
HB 2040 Surplus Real Estate
Surplus Real Estate
Authors: Kansas. Dept. of Transportation
Carlson, E. Dean
Kansas. Legislature. Senate. Ways and Means Committee
Issue Date: 14-Mar-2001
Description: Testimony in opposition to an amendment to House Bill 2040 which was added by the House Appropriations Committee. This amendment eliminates the exemption of the Secretary of Transportation from the requirement of filing records of all real property holdings and real estate transactions with the Director of Accounts and reports. KDOT believes that this will require a manual review of over 70 years of agency real estate records at a massive cost of both time and money to the agency, and that Accounts and Reports would have no real use for the records if furnished.
