Relating to Motor Vehicles; Concerning Farm Trucks or Truck Tractors; Defining Farm Custom Operations
Authors: Kansas. Department of Transportation
Gudenkauf, Ken
Kansas. Legislature. Senate. Committee on Transportation
Issue Date: 15-Feb-2001
Description: Testimony regarding Senate Bill 72, which amends K.S.A. 8-126 to add a definition for "farm custom operations" and amends K.S.A. 8-142 and K.S.A. 8-143 to allow more freedom of operations by a farm truck or truck tractor. KDOT is concerned that the wording of these amendments would allow farm vehicles to operate almost without restriction on Kansas public highways, without appropriate fees, which would result in a further reduction of funding for the Comprehensive Transportation Program.
