Deaf, Kansas School for the
The Kansas School for the Deaf was established in 1861 as a private school and became a state sponsored school in 1862. The school has the responsibility to provide quality educational opportunities to deaf and hearing impaired students from across Kansas. The school is well known for academic excellence in pre-college preparation and career and transitional programs leading to job placements after graducation.
