The map collection of state fishing lakes and wildlife areas often include an outline map of the geographical location with locations of roads, boat ramps, park or wildlife offices, and camping areas indicated on the maps. State fishing lakes in Kansas are primarily used for fishing with limited primitive camping available. Wildlife areas are land areas used for preservation of wildlife habitat and to provide hunting opportunities. They are often located near to state parks to provide camping facilities. Some state parks and wildlife areas are located near federal reservoirs.
