Description: This study was commissioned by Kansas, Inc. to investigate the tax and business climate of Kansas and six states in the region (Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado). This study provides a detailed discussion of three tax structures: corporate income taxes, sales and use taxes, and property taxes. The study also presents a comprehensive evaluation of factors which contribute to a healthy business climate including: business costs, regulatory environment, infrastructure and transportation, and workforce characteristics.
