Legislature approved expenditures of $45.2 million from the Economic Development Initiatives Fund (EDIF) for FY 2000. Expenditures are primarily for operations for the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing (KDOCH) and Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC), the state's economic development agencies, and funding for area vocational schools and technical colleges through the Department of Education. In addition, the FY 2000 expenditures include $300,000 through KDOCH for a grant to the Eisenhower Center in Abilene for museum renovations or other initiatives to increase visitation; $500,000 for local government outdoor recreation through the Department of Wildlife and Parks; and $35,000 for the State Fair for interstate promotion. The following chart details EDIF expenditures and transfers by agency for FY 2000. |
