It is important to track because there is a strong association between prenatal care and pregnancy outcome. Pregnant women who receive inadequate care are at increased risk of bearing infants who have low birth weight, are stillborn, or die within the first year of life. 1 This data can be analyzed to suggest population groups and geographic areas in need of intervention, therefore protecting the health of these future Kansans
