Mission: The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services mission is to foster an environment which; promotes security, dignity and independence, while providing the right care at the right time in a place called home.

Vision: The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services envisions a community that empowers Kansas older adults and persons with disabilities to make choices about their lives.

The department was created through Executive Reorganization Order No. 41 issued by Governor Sam Brownback on Feb 6, 2012, and legislative approval establishing the Department on July 1, 2012 .
