demonstrate its commitment to its employees and maintain its investment in its workforce. Pursuant to this program, classified state employees who are affected by layoffs shall receive preference for any announced vacant
position for which they apply that is at the same pay grade or lower than the pay grade of the positions from which the employees were laid off or scheduled to be laid off. |
