Department of Wildlife and Parks--State Parks in Kansas

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks in 2009 manages 24 state parks across the state and The Prairie Spirit Trail. All state parks except for Sand Hills and Mushroom Rock state parks, and the Prairie Spirit Trail, provide utility and primitive camping. Most are near reservoirs and/or wildlife areas. Many have trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding. Fifteen state parks now provide cabins, both primitive and modern. A few parks are preserved natural areas, allowing visitors to enjoy unspoiled wild Kansas. Within the collection are statewide guides to the parks as well as individual brochures on each park and its facilities.
