Energy Council, Kansas

The Kansas Energy Council (KEC) was established by Governor Kathleen Sebelius on June 1, 2004 (by Executive Order 04-05), and charged with formulating and coordinating a comprehensive state energy plan and making recommendations on long-term energy policy to the Governor, Legislature, Kansas Corporation Commission, and other appropriate entities.

The KEC replaces the former State Energy Resources Coordination Council (SERCC) established in 2002 by former Governor Graves. The membership has been expanded from 13 to 23 and includes four members of the Governor’s Cabinet.

The web site for the Kansas Energy Council is www.kec.kansas.gov.
