Description: Written testimony regarding Senate Bill 545. County treasures are allowed to retain a portion of motor vehicle registration receipts as additional compensation for services performed in administering the motor vehicle title and registration laws. SB 545 would increase the amounts to be retained and increase the overall cap. KDOT estimates that the SHF would realize a decrease of $175,000 for the last six months of FY 2007, and have an ongoing fiscal impact to the State Highway Fund.
